For we have this hope as an anchor for the
soul, firm and secure.

WAITING ON GOD
CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP
11/7/20241 min read
“He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might. Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall; But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.”
(Isaiah 40:29-31)
One thing every Christian leader must know is that achieving God’s purpose depends largely on waiting on him. Through this, we know his purpose for calling us, we know his will, he strengthens us, he gives us fresh oil to meet daily needs, he orders our steps and directs our path, he nourishes our soul and fills us with every spiritual blessing to be effective.
Like the automobile that goes to the pump to fill up more fuel, the source of our authority and power is the Lord who has sent us. Enough time must therefore be made to with and wait on him.
He can use anything, even the weakest thing; what matters is availing oneself.
· Waiting on God means drawing near in prayer to him. Pour our heart out to him is key; telling him how we are in dire need of him.
· It is a means by which we renew our strength. We ask God to take our weakness and replace it with his strength. We acknowledge our weakness and ask him to replace it with his strength.
· It is an expression of dependent relationship with God. Through this relationship the Christian leader’s inadequacies are addressed.
· The Christian leader’s intimacy with the Lord is paramount. When the leader is spiritually nourished, he or she is never handicapped in doing God’s work. He or she operates in full authority and boldness. Waiting on the Lord is a sure of striking this deal.
· Knowing his will can only be achieved when we wait on him. He gives us a clearer picture of his expectation of us and what he wants to do through us.
